With the SIF driver, is there a way to map the password field to another field in a student information program instead of to the student id?
A:
Find the policy or xslt that is setting the password, and change it to use whatever data you want. The default password is likely being created somewhere around the Create Rule.
You can also match on another field other than studentID as well. I matched on a custom field for email address for my initial synch. This was something that already existed in Sasi and in eDdirectory, so it avoided having to enter each student and set the SIF-SISID for every student. Once the initial synch was done, I switched it back to SIF-SISID.
