CIFS, and NDS for NT

Novell Cool Solutions: Question & Answer

Posted: 26 Oct 2005

Q:
When using CIFS and NDS for NT, is it possible to do away with the cifsctxs.cfg file?

A:
No. These 2 products are completely independent of each other. CIFS allows a NetWare server to act like a Windows server. The cifsctxs.cfg file tells the server users from what context can access the server. NDS for NT is a product that integrates Windows Server into the NDS tree. It has no influence on services that may be running on a NetWare server.
