Rights to modify license

Novell Cool Solutions: Question & Answer

Posted: 16 Nov 2005

Q:
I get a 'You don't have the right to read the ACL...' error on license objects when I try to see them in ConsoleOne. I found a TID telling me to delete them, and recreate them, but that's not a solution at the moment.

A:
By default only the user that installed the license has rights to modify it. When the license object is created, an IRF is placed on it to block rights to be inherited from above. So even though you may have Supervisor rights, you're still not able to modify the object if you're not the one that installed it. That's what the message is telling you.

DreamLAN has a freeware tool that you can use to remove the IRF placed on license objects. You can get it from:
ftp://ftp.dreamlan.com/Freeware/rmLicIRF.zip
