Removing a server from eDirectory

Q:
I want to remove a server completely from NDS/eDirectory. The server is currently holding the master replicas of many partitions. NDS health check is good all around.

I am planning to designate another server as the master, then run nwconfig to remove the server from NDS. Would this process take care of the certificate stuff so that I will not have problem with PKI?

A:
TID 10056795 will guide you through what needs to be done. Basically you need to move the CA to another server before removing the server from the tree.

Removing a server from NDS will not automatically move the CA and PKI stuff to another server. You need to take care of that yourself. Any references to the server will, however, be removed - such as the CA Host attribute and the NDSPKI:Key Server DN attribute.
