Server can't ping Internet

Q:
I have a proxy server with 2 NICs. I have the public NIC bound to an IP address that is in the DMZ. I can ping the public address, but I am not able to ping the internet from the server.

A:
Here are three things to check:

1. Are you testing with IPFLT unloaded?
2. Do you have a default route set in the server?
3. Is a firewall between you and the Internet blocking the ping?
