Q:
I'm having problems with my GroupWise server. Can I simply remove the server and volume objects for the server in ConsoleOne, then recreate the NCP server object with the correct name, pointing to the correct server, and then recreate the volume objects as well?
A:
No, you won't be able to do that. You're probably going to have to treat this as a crashed server, remove DS from it, clean up whatever's left of it in DS, get things healthy and working again, then reinstall it in to the tree.
When the server is put back in the tree, the GroupWise schema extensions are still there, so only the directory structure needs to be recreated. Usually this can be done from a recent backup if GW wasn't moved to a new server first, and the agents reinstalled. GroupWise won't need to be reinstalled from scratch.
