Effect of deleting NDS objects

Q:
I have a server that just died, and it was half of a cluster. All volumes have failed over to the other node. Will deleting the NDS objects for the failed node affect the running of the working node?
A:
Yes it will. When you delete the server object out of the tree, in fact you destroy the server's identity from the tree. So if you need to get this dead server back into the tree with it's original identity, you need to save the references for this server first. Otherwise when you reinstall it, it'll turn up as a completely new server and you will need to redo the clustering stuff.
Remember to do a NDS Health Check as per TID 10060600 afterwards
to make sure all is OK, before trying to install another server into the
tree.
