I'm looking for the quickest way to change the "force periodic change" attribute to 90 days, on 4,000 user objects.
A:
Here are three possibilities:
1) Use Universal Password and apply the password policy to the entire tree (or at least to all the users). Then set it to expire its passwords in 90 days. Make sure you are using NMAS.
2) Go to www.jrbsoftware.com and buy a copy of JRB Utilities. Use SETREST to change this restriction for all users.
3) Use DSRAZOR to change password settings for multiple users. The applet called "Change Selected Attributes for Users-Mass" in the NDS User Maintenance section can easily be modified to include the users you want to change and the password attributes you want to set for those users.
