Q:
My boss sent me an OpenOffice file to update, but it seems to be locked into a read-only mode. Is there any easy way to unlock it so I can work on it?

A:
Piece of cake. If you press the "Edit File" button in the toolbar while a read-only file is open, you'll get an untitled copy of the file to work with. When you try to save the document you will be prompted for a new file name.
