I'm looking for a Linux tool that will let me burn DVDs (and is free). Any suggestions?

We regularly receive email inquiries from folks wanting to know of specialized apps they're looking for that will run on Linux, and are free. As with you, there's a lot of interest in easy tools for CD and DVD burning, and and surprising amount of interest in professional quality (but free) tools for 3D animation and modeling.
