Problems installing SUSE Linux 9.1 on Medion PC

Q:
When I try to install SUSE Linux 9.1 on a Medion PC 8083, it hangs during the USB hardware detection. Any ideas?

A:
Two different approaches are possible:

Before starting the installation, change the USB controller from USB 2.0 to USB 1.1 in the BIOS. Once the installation is completed, the USB controller in the BIOS can be reset to USB 2.0.

Remove the connected USB devices after starting the installation from the boot menu of the installation medium (you will still need the USB-connected wireless keyboard for this purpose). Once the hardware detection is completed, reconnect the keyboard receiver to the USB port and proceed with the installation.
