If I move my SAP installations to Linux, will I need more CPUs than I have right now? If so, it will require me to buy more SAP licenses, and I probably won't really save anything.
A:
We've got customers with SAP that have migrated SAP from AIX to SLES 8 and they reportedly haven't needed extra hardware. They used the same number of CPUs/servers, and they got a better performance and response times.
