Q:
What is the norm for interconnectivity between Linux desktops on a LAN? Are you folks using NFS, Samba, or something else?

A:
Interconnectivity between Linux Desktops (when Windows is absent) is best done through NFS. To read up on how to do it, I'd recommend typing "man nfs" in one terminal and "man exports" in another one, and reading both extensively. They are both very well documented.
