How do I get rid of the documentation that is installed with rpm packages?
Novell Cool Solutions: Question & Answer
I need to slim my Linux down. I don't need all the documentation, so how do I get rid of it? Is there an easy way?
Try installing packages with the --excludedocs flag. This will install the package without thel documentation.
You can also wipe out the /usr/share/doc directory using rm -rf /usr/share/doc, but be very careful with that command; it's a very powerful one. If you have any doubts, use --excludedocs suggestion instead.
