I have a poweredge 1550 with a single 1GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM and an 18GB hard drive.During the installation I get the ICS boot screen and then Loading System Services with the infinite number of ..... dots.TIDs on Support Connection talk about updating drivers for SCSI and IDE CD. Done all that, but still no better.
A:
We connected a disk directly to the onboard 78xx SCSI adapter and low level formatted the disk before we started (initially we were using the perc)
We also had to follow the Novell article regarding SCSI drivers: http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/tip/2455.html
Once set up we imaged the hdd using an identicle drive utilising Symantecs ghost for netware's clone functionality...so now we have a hotswap sparedrive cos we find the whole restoration of the ichain system with the appropriate saved config and application of the latest patch very time consuming.
