Q:
The change password screen is not showing up during grace logins.

A:
Several possibilities based on error received by the client:

  1. Error: "Login Failed"
    a) iChain box must be restarted after the path is entered in the Password Management Servlet URL field.
    b) Check the version of NLDAP.NLM on the Authorization Server or update eDirectory / LDAP on the server. One customer reported that the NLM was not updated when eDir was upgraded to eDir 85.12.
  2. Error: "Bad or malformed reply"
    Indicates a problem with the path in the Password Management Servlet URL field. The path may be correct but verify the servlet is specified correctly: iChainPasswordChange. This is case sensitive!
  3. Error: "Page cannot be displayed"
    Indicates the path is wrong or the servlet/class file is not in the directory specified.
Troubleshooting:
Take a LAN trace of the traffic between the iChain server and the LDAP server. The LDAP server should return a Bind Response with the following error message: "NDS error: password expired (-223)". Verify the response was ACKed by the iChain server to indicate the response was received.
