Forcing Servers to Communicate Through iChain
Novell Cool Solutions: Question & Answer
Q:
How do you force web servers to communicate only through iChain when both are in an intranet? I understand that a DNS change can resolve any web server name to the iChain server IP address. But how do you protect a web server from someone accessing it directly by using its true IP address?
A:
Most web servers (IIS for example) allow you to specify the IP address or range/class of IP addresses that are granted/denied access to the web server. Simply set the web server to only allow a connection from the iChain's IP address, restricting all others.
