Clustering and iChain

Q:
I'm using iChain as a reverse proxy with dozens of origin servers right now. Each server is referenced via a path-based multihoming.

I'm interested in set up a few more ichain boxes in a "cluster" forperformance and redundancy.

Is there a mechanism to have my proxy configuration replicate to the otherboxes in the cluster?

A:
Strictly speaking, you won't get clustering "from" the iChain product. Load balancing/fault tolerance can beachieved using Layer4-7 switches to multiple iChain Proxy servers.

You actually configure an option called the Authentication Session Broker(it's in the iChain Admin documentation under the "Using and Tuning iChainFeatures" section). It will not "mirror" the configurations betweenmultiple iChain Proxy servers (this is a manual process), however, it willintercommunicate between iChain Proxy servers when a user has alreadyauthenticated to one Proxy and DNS or a load balancer sends the user toanother Proxy server. This will allow the user not to have to authenticatea second time when accessing the same web accelerator resource.
