Q:
Help! I recently applied Windows XP SP2, and now iPrint is unbearably slow. Any suggestions? The natives are restless...

A:
You're definitely not alone, and Engineering is working on a fix. Meanwhile, here's a temporary workaround that might help, depending on your particular environment:

  1. Edit your iPrint.INI to use the short name install feature and set AllowUserPrinters = 0. (How?)
  2. Re-install your iPrint printers so the short name feature and Workstation printer setting is used.

  • It's nice to offer a workaround but how about a fix 5 months later?
