Q:
What is the best way to auto-reboot a WS after you are done running an app object? I want to login as a specific user that will push down some registry settings and then reboot the WS after it is done. Is there a reboot program that people run as the last app of a series of apps?
Or can I just specify to force a reboot at the end of installing an app even though it isn't really necessary? (He says, as the light dawns on him.) I guess there are times where I would like some time to go by before the WS is rebooted. Is there an app that I can use to cause a timed delay before a reboot?
How about an auto login? There are times when I want the WS to boot up and login as a specific user to deliver and app and then reboot or shut down. I have read the AutoAdminLogin TID but I only want this to happen once - not make this the case for every user to log in. Is there another way to get the WS manager to stuff keystrokes into the Login dialog?
A:
For a force reboot, you could try NCSHTDWN from our Free Tools area or just have a chained app that just does reboot. For autoadminlogin, what you do is that you have a force run app for this user, and one of the things it does is to clear that information out of the registry, so it only applies once.
