High CPU utilization of TED subscriber

Novell Cool Solutions: Question & Answer

Posted: 19 May 2004

Q:
When using ZENworks for Servers, our Tiered Electronic Distribution (TED) subscriber server is running at 100% CPU utilization when extracting the distribution received from the distributor. Is there any way around that?

A:
It's essential that you make sure your distributions are completely sent before starting theextract. This problem occurs if you have a distribution with multiple delta files. If the last one is sent before previous delta was sent, ZENworks for Servers will try to extract, but is unable to find the previous delta. This is causing the 100% utilisation.

Specify the time for the extract and let all distributions finish before starting the extract.
