MSI app reboots workstation

Q:
When I try to do verify of an MSI app, it reboots the workstation without prompting. The application object is configured to Prompt before Reboot. Any hints?
A:
When NAL makes calls to MSI for the install of the app, it can control the reboot behavior because of the REBOOT property which NAL always sets to "Really Suppress" so that MSI attempts to reboot are suppressed and NAL can control the reboot behavior. However, when NAL makes calls to MSI for the verify of the app, it cannot control the reboot behavior because there are no MSI defined parameters that could be defined to control the reboot behavior on a verify. The available Verify parameters are listed in the NAL app object under the MSI / Verify tab.
The reboot is a direct result of how the MSI application itself is configured. You may need to edit the MSI to control this behavior.
