Remote Control of people behind NAT

Novell Cool Solutions: Question & Answer

Q:
Quick question on remote controlling users who are outside the firewall and only have the management agent. I am having NO issues with remote controlling users who do not have a hardware cable router in place. HOWEVER, if a user has a router in place and ZENworks sees a 192.168.x.x address, they are not able to be remote controlled. Do I have to open port 1761 on their devices?

A:
If the user is behind NAT and you can't see their address directly, you'll need ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management when it's released. This will allow the user to initiate a request for remote control.
