Q:
How hard is it to empty out my Inventory database and start fresh? I'm using a Sybase database -- is there anything I should watch out for?

A:
You can replace the database with empty files from the installation CD (orwherever you have the original installation files).

Try this:

1. Shut down the Inventory services on the server.

2. Extract (with PowerArchiver or Winzip) Installer.zip that you can find infolder \zenworks\sfiles\InstallerData\ on the ZFD-installation cd.

3. Browse to
\R_\Test\prometheus\Bogus\zenworks\Products\RMInv\Database\Sybase\
and unpack InvDB_zg_ia_sf.jar.

4. Copy all extracted files to \ZENworks\Inv\DB\ on the server. Replaceexisting files.

5. Start the services with mgmtdbs.ncf and startinv.

If you need an empty NAL.DB it is in NalDB_zg_ia_sf.jar.
