I work for a large school district with a large investment in a Novell SLA but a reduced IT budget. Reading the Q&A for Patch Management I came across this Q&A:
"If I have ZENworks (any version) plus upgrade protection, will I get ZENworks Patch Management?
You get the server and agents for free. Subscription for patches is $18 per device for 1 year and $30 per device for 2 years.
I was wondering if it's possible to apply patches without the subscription since we have ZENworks? This would allow us to test, manage and pick and choose what patches we want to apply. Is this possible without the subscription?
A:
Certainly. You can apply patches with ZENworks Desktop Management or Server Management. However, if you want to use ZENworks Patch Management to do the patching, you must get the patches through the subscription.
