OK to wipe inventory database out for new school year?

We have all our student/staff machines imported into the network. If we wipe the database to start afresh, will this cause any problems with imported machines? Or will the machines be fine, but just won't have any information about them until the next scan, when the database will start rebuilding itself?
A:
The workstations will be fine. You'll still have minimal info, and more info isrepopulated with the next scan. Don't forget to set the force full scancheckbox on the inventory server object.
