Doing an Inventory roll up across two trees

Q:
Is there any way to do a ZENworks Inventory Roll-Up across separate eDirectory Trees? I want to roll up data from an intermediate server to a root server in another tree.

A:
In the Roll-Up Policy, there is an object browser for choosing the destination server. On the upper right corner of the browser, there are two yellow icons. The left-most icon goes up one level, and the one on the right is the Set Context icon. It looks like a folder with a plus sign or cross on it. Once selected, it allows the administrator to select another Tree to browse. You should be authenticated to the Tree you would like to browse before selecting this option.

Note: A ZfD 3 SP1 or ZfD 3.2 inventory server cannot roll up its data to a ZfD 3 SP1, ZfD 3.2, or ZfD 4.x inventory server in another eDirectory tree.

To do Roll-Up across Trees:

1: Go into the properties of the zeninvRollUpPolicy of the Leaf or Intermediate server.
2: Make sure you are authenticated to the other Tree you want to RollUp Inventory data to.
3: Choose the "Browse" button next to the line for Destination Service Object.
4: Click the upper-right icon with the crossed arrows on it. This should open up a Set Context box.
5: Type in the Tree name you want to Roll-Up to. Click OK.
6: Browse to the destination zenInvService object. Select it, and you should be done.
