Q:
In ZENworks for Servers, is it possible for an external subscriber to become a parent subscriber?
A:
An external subscriber cannot become a parent subscriber for that distribution. However, that external subscriber can also be a distributor that could then initiate the send into that other tree.
If you would like to distribute content to servers in a different tree that is not running ZfS, here's a thought. Servers in the second tree can be represented as a 'regular' subscriber in the first tree. During the install, when selecting servers to add, you have the option of selecting a tree (or domain) other than the one in which you extended the schema. You could select the servers in the other tree that you wanted to send content to and those servers would now be part of tree 1's ZfS system and can be used to forward content to other servers in tree 1's ZfS system.
