Q:
I'm setting up apps to modify a common .txt file on the workstation. I onlywant to track the name of the app installed and the date. I am able tosuccessfully modify the existing txt file on the workstation with the text Ihave chosen using the Text Files section under Distribution Options of theapp object, but is there a way to include a date variable so that I can tellwhen the app was pushed to this workstation?

This is the line I'm trying to add to a text file:

APP: NALIEButtonRemove; Version 1 (Distribution date: "%DAY")

I've tried with and without the quotes, but it's not converting the variableinto the current date in the text file. Am I missing something?

A:
You can use all the normal login script macros, such as %DAY, etc -- see this TID.

For example, this is what a test app looked like:

Add text to file/end of file:

Installed BartEyes for %CN% %DAY_OF_WEEK%, %MONTH%/%DAY%/%YEAR%, at %HOUR%:%MINUTE% on %MACHINE%-%P_STATION%
