Q:
We have an OU called "USERS", where all the users reside. The OU also contains two User Policy Packages, "User Package" and "Administration Package". The "User Package" is for normal users, the "Administration Package" is for the ICT staff.

I have created a Container Policy Package in the OU with a search policy. It has these settings:

Search for policies up to: Associated container (which is "USERS")
Search Level: 0
Search Order: Object, Group, Container
Refresh Interval: 1 hour

I have associated the "User Package" with the OU "USERS" and the "Administration Package" with a group called "Administration". This group is also in the "USERS" OU.However, if I login with a user from the "Administration" group, I get the policies from the "User Package" instead of the "Administration Package".

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

A:
Try changing the search order to container, group, object. Containerneeds to be on top of the list.

  • This answer is just plain nonsense - changing the search policy as specified, they will always get the container policy. What is most likely wrong is that they have policies associated to more than one group that the user is a member of.
