Q:
I have a quite big problem when I distribute fonts via an application object. The Application object only contains the fonts and the registry keys for the fonts. After distibution of the fonts, Windows doesn't put the fonts in, for example, the font list in Word. This is also the problem with all other programs.

When I install the fonts the normal way (control panel > fonts > file > install new font...) Windows does put the fonts in the fonts list. What am I missing?

A:
Make sure you reboot. A reboot is required when NAL distributesthe files and reg keys.

If you don't like to interrupt yourself with a reboot, here's something you might like. It's a great little freebie tool called ADDFONT for adding fonts to a machine on the fly, without a reboot. Here's how it works, according to their website, "The AddFont Command uses the Shell API function "AddFontResource" to add the supplied font to the Windows Font Table. It then Sends a WM_FONTCHANGE message to all top level windows that are open on the machine, and writes the required font information to the registry so that the font will be found after reboot."
