1. Has anyone done this? Does it work?
2. What is reverse migrated? (My guess is anything associated with the NDS domain object, but I'd like some kind of confirmation.)

And feel free to toss in any other pearls of wisdom you might have on the subject.

Wayne, the reverse migration is working, and some (including us) would go so far as to say it's working very well. What's reverse migrated? That's a big question, and here's the Reader's Digest answer from the engineer:

During the reverse migrate, the SAMSRV.DLL will be renamed and the "Migration Filter-File" will be used. We use the PendingFileNameRequest-API from Microsoft to complete this process. We have a setting in the registry, and the next time we reboot, the server auto-logs on to NetWare and NT.

At this point, you have the possibility to copy all users who were created since the migration back to the MS-SAM. Or, you can migrate back to the status as before (no new users). We do, however, copy all passwords to the NT SAM.

After we reboot the server, the SAMSRV.DLL will be renamed and the original SAMSRV.DLL from Microsoft is used. Once the machine is up and running (using the MS SAMSRV.DLL) we delete all the objects in NDS. Finally, we delete the Security & Migration Keys in the registry and disable the auto-logon mentioned above.
