Where is the ABEND.LOG and what is it for?
A:
An ABEND.LOG file is an Ascii text file that is created at the time of an ABEND. Each time the server ABENDs, an entry is appended to the bottom of the ABEND Log. Each entry in the ABEND Log contains summary information about the state of the server at the time of the ABEND.
The ABEND.LOG file is created in the boot directory where SERVER.EXE resides. When the server is brought back up, it is copied to the SYS:\SYSTEM directory.
