Missing X.509 certificate utility

Novell Cool Solutions: Question & Answer

Posted: 25 Aug 2004

Q:
I understand that Novell Audit is supposed to have a command-line utility that makes x.509 certificates, but I can't find it on the 1.01 disk.

A:
AudCGen is a command line utility that generates custom x.509 certificates for the Secure Logging Server and logging applications. Novell Audit uses certificates to authenticate logging applications and sign events.

Unfortunately this utility was omitted from the Novell Audit 1.0.1 product distribution. NAUDIT101AUDCGEN.EXE contains the audcgen.exe utility for Windows NT and 2000. To execute this file, Novell Audit and eDirectory are required on the server. Copy audcgen.exe into the Windows path on the server. This file is executed from the command line. Refer to the Novell Audit documentation for more information (http://www.novell.com/documentation/nsureaudit)
