SYS volume and caching

Novell Cool Solutions: Question & Answer

Q:
I can't show the Java script when the client is connected through the BM proxy. The window with the Java script is empty (blank) at first. When I refresh the window in my browser, half the script is displayed. After refreshing again the full script is diplayed. When the client is connected through NAT (without proxy), the browser will also display the full script.

BorderManager proxy works on the 8080 port, and there is an NSS Cache on the SYS: volume. Any suggestions?

A:
SYS is not created with proper cache settings (no compression and no suballocation, and 8-16k block size). Besides, cache will fill up the SYS volume and kill NDS. You never want cache on a SYS volume.
