Junk Mail has become an increasing problem for email users worldwide. GroupWise gives you the ability to manage junk mail by automatically filtering unwanted email as it's received. By adding email addresses or domain names to a particular Junk Mail Handling list, you can affect the way the email is filtered.
Let's brush up on our Junk Mail options;
Junk List - Messages received from addresses and domains on this list will be placed into your Junk List Mail folder.
Block List - Messages received from addresses and domains on this list will not be delivered to your GroupWise account.
Trust List - Messages received from addresses and domains on this list will always be placed in your Mailbox regardless of whether or not the address is also on the Junk or Block Lists. The Trust List can be used much like an exception rule. For example, you can place the address of email@example.com in your Trust List to receive emails from your friend John, even though the domain name of ?sampledomain.com' is on your Block List.
Mark a Message as Junk Mail
Messages you receive from internet mail accounts can be marked as junk mail. Once the sender's address is added to the Junk List, GroupWise will then automatically filter emails received from that address and place the messages in the Junk Mail folder.
To mark a message as junk mail:
Note: You can follow similar steps to add an email address or domain name to either the Block or Trust Lists.
Managing your Junk Mail lists
You can manage your junk mail lists at any time by using the Junk Mail Handling menu. From this menu you can add, edit, or delete addresses from your junk mail lists. You can also choose to have messages received from email addresses other than those in your personal address books to be places in the Junk Mail Folder.
To manage your Junk Mail lists:
- Select Tools | Junk Mail Handling?
- Check the Enable Junk List box to activate the junk mail features.
- Select the appropriate boxes to enable the junk mail options you wish to use.
- Select the Junk List, Block List, or Trust List tabs to add, edit, or delete addresses from these lists.
- Click OK.
