Manually Removing Password Synchronization 1.0 From the Registry

On the pwdsync service machine...

  1. Run regedit.exe and delete the following keys:

    1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\
      CurrentControlSet\Services\PWDSYNC

    2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
      Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{18b12728-da0e-45e6-a0c2-a38b35aadf33}

    3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
      Novell\DirXML Password Synchronization for Windows NT/2000

  2. Reboot the machine.

On any domain controllers where the filter may have been installed:

  1. 1. Run regedt32.exe and:

    1. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\
      CurrentControlSet\Control\LSA, edit the Notification Packages value and remove the NWPWDFLT entry.

    2. Delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
      Novell\NwPwdFlt key.

  2. Reboot the machine.
