Tired of W95/98/ME password prompts? Don't want to essentially cache your NetWare password on your hard drive? Here's a fix:
- Push out the registry change:
- Then write a batch file that contains the following code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software \Microsoft \Windows \CurrentVersion \Policies \Network] "DisablePwdCaching"=dword:00000001
CD.. CD.. CD.. CD.. CD.. CD.. C:\ cd c:\windows del *.pwl
All the "CD.."s are just in case you happen to run it from a buried directory on the server.
You can incorporate both of these steps in one ZENworks application object and never have to worry about changing, keeping in synch, or canceling a Windows password prompt again.
