In the agency I work for (Minnesota Department of Transportation) we use GroupWise as a great source of communication.
We have several employees who work out of truck stations located across the southern part of the state. We have set up "distribution" lists in our GroupWise address book so when we need to get information out it's easy to enter one list name. This distribution list gets the lets us reach all the employees that are "on the road". The employees check their e-mail daily and get the communications we've sent quicker than you can say "office memo".
Needless to say, it's a huge time and money saver.
Editor's Note: Janet didn't mention anything about GroupWise Web Access but we think that would be a slick way to communicate with these "road warriors". That way, they could pick up their orders at any Internet-ready truck stop, public library, or Internet cafe.
