PROBLEM: The Linux kernel does not natively support mounting Novell NetWare 4/5 volumes.
SOLUTION: Use the opensource ncpfs project at: http://freshmeat.net/projects/ncpfs/
Build it and use ncpmount to authenticate yourself and mount the volume. If you're using IPX, be sure to build IPX support as a module, and not directly into the kernel - otherwise things just don't work well.

The ncpfs package does not need to be built from source. SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Open Enterprise Server, and SUSE Linux Professional all have it available in YaST. Check out this article for more information.
