Solution:
In the /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth... file you can put a parameter in the bottom of the file that will keep a persistent name.
Example:
PERSISTENT_NAME='nic0'
Note:
Do not use ethX for the interface name. You must use something like nic, wireless, internal, or external as an example.
