Does your CD-ROM open every couple of minutes and drive you nuts? Here's why, and how to put an end to the madness.
There is a program on SUSE Linux called suseplugger. This loads by default. If this application is kept from loading, this problem will no longer occur. If you go into the System Monitor and kill the suseplugger process, your CD-ROM will no longer open and close constantly.
You can also remove the /opt/kde3/share/autostart/suseplugger.desktop file to keep it from starting automatically.
