Problem

"I have renamed our tree and installed a new OES linux box. When running iManager on the OES Linux box, I am unable to install new DirXML plug-ins. They are in the right directory, and it does not prompt me to install them, nor is there an option to do that under the Configure menu. Can someone please help me?"

Solution

Renaming the tree mostly likely caused the entry (or entries) in your /var/opt/novell/tomcat4/webapps/nps/WEB-INF/configiman.properties file to become invalid. The entry(s) in this file should read something like this:

admin.context.MYTREENAME=eDirectory

Because you renamed your tree, the MYTREENAME part of the entry is probably incorrect now. Manually change this to the new tree name, and you should now see the 'Module Installation' role under Configure. You don't need to restart Tomcat for this change to take effect - you just need to do something that causes the Configure page to be refreshed, such as going from Configure to Roles and Tasks and then back to Configure.
