Problem:

How to define printer properties on Windows workstations.

Solution:

Use a registry compare tool (like ART http://www.elcomsoft.com/art.html or others) and take a snapshot of the registry.

On a installed printer (or install a new one), set the properties you want (rectoverso, paper size, cost center, NDPS notifications, etc).

Take another snapshot of the registry, check the differences on the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER...] section. Export the sections you want to a .reg file and deploy it with the /q option.

Example:

This registry piece sets a cost center ID on my Canon 6020 printer:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Canon\PS3\WWF\Canon_CC142501.INT]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Canon\PS3\WWF\Canon_CC142501.INT\AccountMngTBL]
"DATA"=hex:34,00,02,00,31,00,34,00,32,00,35,00,30,00,31,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\
  00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\
  00,00,00,00,00

Environment:

MS-Windows, with NW client (any)
