GroupWise Messenger On Your Palm Treo 650 and other Palm Wireless Devices

Omni has announced the availability of the public beta of Omni Messenger on Palm Treo 650, Treo 600 and other Palm wireless devices. This follows closely on last week's release of Omni Messenger Version 1.0 for Pocket PC devices. Omni Messenger is compatible with GroupWise 6.x and 7.

Omni Messenger provides a native mobile client for GroupWise Messenger; SSL encryption of all communication; and unlimited contacts, folders and conversations. There are no server configuration changes required. "People are looking to have immediate access to information. Omni Messenger takes this to the next level," said Aldo Zanoni, CEO for Omni. "With Omni Messenger on your Treo 650 or Pocket PC mobile device, you have GroupWise presence awareness and immediate on-line access to your colleagues - from anywhere in the connected world. Omni Messenger provides the perfect collaboration enhancement for GroupWise Messenger."

New Omni Syncaphone Client Provides GroupWise Access on Nokia Communicator

Omni Technology Solutions continues to lead in providing mobile solutions for GroupWise with its new Omni Syncaphone client for Nokia 9300 and 9500 Communicator. Omni Syncaphone provides Java cell phone users with secure, online access to their GroupWise email, calendars, address books, tasks and notes. Omni Sycaphone installs onto the GroupWise WebAccess server. It does not require any new hardware, databases, or gateway servers to be installed. Knowledge workers who demand mobile access to their full set of business-critical applications can now access the leading collaboration and messaging suite - Novell GroupWise.

Omni Syncaphone provides Java cell phone users with "lightweight" direct access to their GroupWise account. Omni Syncaphone enables users to access their GroupWise accounts online, rather than storing GroupWise data on the Java cell phone.

"Many Novell customers are currently evaluating GroupWise mobility solutions. Omni Syncaphone now supports the Nokia 60 series phones, and now the 80 series phones with this new client is very timely," says Aldo Zanoni, CEO of Omni Technology Solutions.

Omni Syncaphone communicates directly with GroupWise through WebAccess. Because additional databases, gateway servers and software licences are not required, Omni Syncaphone is a very cost-effective solution.

"Omni Syncaphone's wireless connectivity is as secure and reliable as your GroupWise system," explains Aldo Zanoni. "No proxy access, trusted APIs, or IMAP or POP3 limitations - just GroupWise!" Omni Syncaphone uses Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for Internet connections, and a new encryption key is randomly generated for each data request. Syncaphone's "poison pill" feature allows administrators to remotely clear the mobile application from the Java cell phone if the device is lost or stolen.

Omni Syncaphone runs on Novell NetWare. Support for Open Enterprise Server, SUSE Linux and Microsoft Windows will be available in future releases. A 30-day trial version of the software is available at: www.omni-ts.com/groupwise-phone/evaluate.html.
