ENVIRONMENT:
We have used this on Win9x/client 3.32+ and WinXp/client 4.8.3+

We wanted to set the desktop shell to nalwin32 only if the machine is classified as a "ZEN" machine, so office and admin staff machines get the windows Explorer.exe shell. Here's how we do it:

We set the Novell client "long machine type" = "ZEN" then test for that in the container login script along with the cool tool called setshell.exe

This can also be accomplished using the REGREAD login script command, but this way seems easier and faster.

EXAMPLE: In the container login script add the following:

IF "%MACHINE"="ZEN" THEN BEGIN
#C:\progra~1\novell\setshell\setshell.exe /c: c:\progra~1\novell\zenworks\nalwin32.exe /C="%cn%'s your school or company name here"
END
