Problem

On Fedora Core, ConsoleOne or Mobile iManager crashes, producing an error message similar to the following:

#
# An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:
#

# Problematic frame:
# C [libndssdk.so.1+0x54aba] SYBeginCritSec__FUi+0x2a

Solution

The problem is not in libndssdk.so, as the ConsoleOne crash suggests. Fedora Core uses a technique called prelinking to speed up starting of programs. But the prelinking conflicts with NICI functionality. So, the correct solution is to exclude libccs2 from prelinking.

Add the following line to /etc/prelink.conf:

-b /usr/lib/libccs2.so.*
