PROBLEM: I would like to set up POP3 and IMAP4 on my GroupWise system. There is an option in the GWIA object (under the tab called POP3/IMAP4) to enable these two. When I try to authenticate to my GWIA with a POP3 client I get an authentication error. So I can't login correctly. The same is happening to my IMAP4 clients.
SOLUTION: Simply enabling the POP3 and IMAP4 options under the POP3/IMAP4 tab of the GWIA properties is not the only thing you need to do.
Open the GWIA properties, and go to Access Control >> then edit the "Default Class of Service". Here you see 4 tab pages. To enable POP3 you need to go to the POP3 tab then click the radio button "Allow Access". Do the same for IMAP4 if you would like to use that.
Now you can use POP3 and IMAP4 correctly.
