Getting your Mapi Apps to work after Upgrading to GroupWise 7

GroupWise 7

PROBLEM: Windows Mapi applications not working following the client upgrade to GroupWise 7.

SOLUTION: The GroupWise 7 install creates a new mail profile for your windows system, however it does not delete the old default mapi profile. Mapi applications will generally use the first profile in the list unless specifically coded otherwise.

From within Control Panel -> Mail applet you should see two profiles

  • Novell Default Settings
  • Novell GroupWise

Remove the Novell Default Settings profile, This is left over from your previous GroupWise client.

Now retry your mapi application and it will work as before.
