Problem:

I could not find this on Novell Support nor Google.

Novell Client Installation using Setupsp.exe or ACU.exe.
Error - "An unknown error 0x0000000D (13) occurred while installing"
The only selection is "OK".

Both setupsp.exe and acu.exe use the setupsp.inf file for scripted installation of the install for the Novell Client.

By default the setting under heading:
[ServicePackOptions]
Reinstall = YES

Solution:

Change the setting in the setupsp.inf (to NO) under heading:
[ServicePackOptions]
Reinstall = NO

For some reason it was trying to reinstall and failing w/error 13 even though already installed.

Example:

[ServicePackOptions]
;
; Reinstall = NO causes SETUPSP.EXE to not apply
; updates again if the current support pack has already
; been installed on the workstation.
;
; Reinstall = YES forces SETUPSP.EXE to run and
; re-apply updates even when the current support pack
; is detected as having already been installed.
;
; NOTE: to for the reinstallation of the updates,
; Set Reinstall = YES and DisplayInstallPrompts = NO
;
Reinstall = NO

Environment:

OS's = Windows 2000 and Windows XP
Novell Client 4.91 SP2
Launched from local prepopulated directory (full client copied locally w/ZEN) C:\Novell\NW491SP2
